It’s not in vain that Alla Pugacheva in our country has been called the Primadon Russian stage for several decades. She is rightfully considered the number one Soviet and Russian singer. Her songs are known to people of all ages and musical preferences.
Alla at one time collaborated with the most talented composers and songwriters who considered it an honor to create musical masterpieces specifically for her unique voice.
We suggest recalling the list of 10 most popular songs by Alla Pugacheva.
This song was first performed in 1976. She was included in the famous concert program of the singer called "The Woman Who Sings." This hit became a laureate of the All-Union Television Festival of Soviet Song Song-77.
Interesting fact: based on the results of a sociological survey conducted in 2015, lyrics "Not renounce loving…" took 36th position in the hundred most popular poetic lines in our country.
9. The half-wizard
Now few people remember the film "Brave Chirac", created at the Tajikfilm film studio. But in this film Pugacheva sang a song "The half-wizard".
Interesting fact: nice clause “Yes, aroma ... Oh!” was not the author’s idea. The composer simply decided to add another beat to the chorus, so Pugacheva made a mistake and entered ahead of time. However, this seemed to the author a very nice touch (like, a wizard is so mediocre that he doesn’t even get into time).
As a result, this frivolous children's song became a real hit both among children and among adults.
8. Wow ...
This song was one of the first that Vladimir Kuzmin wrote specially for Alla Pugacheva. Her premiere took place at the "New Year's Blue Light" on the night of January 1, 1987.
"Wow…" immediately became a nationwide hit throughout the Soviet space. Later, Kuzmin himself admitted that the hit was written more out of "sports interest" than for the soul. However, this creative experiment ended very well: stylized to the rhythms of Eurodisc and arranged in the style of rock music, the song became an example of fruitful cooperation between two talented musicians, albeit working in different genres.
7. Antique watches
This song was created by two illustrious masters who presented the Primadonna with more than one hit. Of course, we are talking about Ilya Reznik and Raymond Pauls. Composition "Antique clock" appeared in the repertoire of Pugacheva in 1981.
The song debuted in the telecast “Our Maestro's Guest” in December 1981 at Pauls' creative evening. “Antique Clock” immediately became a very popular and recognizable hit of the singer.
Despite the success of the song with the public, work on its creation did not go very smoothly. Then Ilya Reznik was visiting Raymond Pauls in Riga. Pauls played his compositions on the piano, and one of the melodies the poet liked with his lyricism and warmth. Returning to his hotel room, Reznik wrote poetry for the future song about the sea. Next was another option, which also did not satisfy Reznik.
The version of the song, which eventually became a popular hit, arose thanks to the ringing grandfather clock in the hallway at Pauls. Pugacheva was pleased with this particular option, however, she considered it necessary to make adjustments to the second verse.
6. Call me with you
This song belongs to the composer, poet and singer Tatyana Snezhina. The real popularity for this composition came after it was performed by Alla Pugacheva (was included in her 1998 album “Yes!”).
After the tragic death of a young poetess, her brother sent a song recording "Call me with you" Alla Pugacheva, who, without hesitation, introduced her repertoire, thanks to which the composition became the winner in the "Song of the Year-97" competition.
5. Harlequin
This immortal hit was written by Bulgarian author Emil Dimitrov to the text of Boris Barkas. A record from the USSR State Radio and Television Fund of 1964 is preserved, in which the author of the hit performs it in Bulgarian. After 11 years, this song appeared in the repertoire of the then still beginning singer Alla Pugacheva.
In 1975, the song was recorded in the studio. Then with “Harlequin” the future Diva was awarded the Grand Prix of the Golden Orpheus International Music Competition in Bulgaria in 1975.
This song is considered one of the most popular in the work of Alla Borisovna. It was after her performance, or rather, after the release of the famous video shot in the Moscow subway, that the young singer received popular love and recognition from her colleagues.
4. Iceberg
On New Year's Eve 1984 in Pugachev’s festive telecast “New Year's Attraction” his new compositions: “Tell, Birds” and "Iceberg".
The author of these famous hits was then the novice composer Igor Nikolaev, who at that time was a keyboard player in the Pugacheva Ensemble Recital. From that moment began a long and fruitful creative collaboration of Alla Borisovna and Nikolaev.
The song "Iceberg" immediately became widely popular. Later, Pugacheva admitted that during that period of her life there was a man next to her, very similar to the cold iceberg she praised, who hides all her sorrows “under the black wave”.
3. Madame Broshkina
Who is this legendary? Madame Broshkina? Most admirers of Diva’s work are sure that this heroine is nothing more than a collective image of a “diligent divorcee” of Balzac age. Even her surname comes from the word “abandoned”.
We can say that this venerable lady is not very old yet, but as Pugacheva herself sings “Her train is gone”.
2. The ferryman
The plot of the poem by Nikolai Zinoviev was based on the story of a real person, a ferryman named Yakov Dmitrievich Zakharov (in his poem, the poet called him Ivan Matveevich), in the difficult years after the war, who ferried children, orphans, disabled people, etc.
He himself was also an invalid of war. The veteran worked at the river crossing for 27 years. When the local authorities abolished the ferry in 1975, it transported passengers over the river for a long time by boat. Yakov Zakharov died in 1982, he was 61 years old.
First, the author of a famous poem "Ferryman" emphasized the glorification of the selfless work of a simple person who helps people for free. However, when creating the song, it was decided to focus on a love theme.
1. Million scarlet roses
Probably, not only in our country, but throughout the post-Soviet space, there is no person who would not know the story of the unfortunate artist in love, who sold all his property in order to cover the whole street under the window of his beloved million scarlet roses.
The plot, which became the basis for creating the legendary song "Million Scarlet roses", tells the story of a semi-mythical story about the amazing act of the Georgian artist Niko Pirosmani, in love with the French actress Margarita de Sevres, who in 1905 came on tour in Tiflis.
Pirosmani, unrequitedly in love, as soon as he tried to win the beauty of the beauty, but she remained cold to his prayers and often did not even dignify the unhappy artist with a look.
This state of affairs plunged Nico into despair. He sometimes cried to the ground in tears to kiss the traces of the actress. Passion on the verge of madness was not to the liking of the actress and only further strengthened her aversion to the admirer.
But one day, several arbas full of fresh flowers drove up to the hotel where Margarita lived. The woman appreciated such a wide gesture and passionately kissed the artist. They never saw each other again.
There is a version that the plot for the song was based on real events, but there is no documentary evidence of this legend.
