There will be a very serious discussion now: recognizing that you cannot tie a tie can sometimes be a little embarrassing. If you're not one of those guys who wear a suit and tie every day, it's easy to forget how to tie a tie in a perfect knot.
If you already have a headache when you are trying to recall the last official event that you had, or when you are first engaged in your official appearance, we have put together several easy-to-remember methods to facilitate this fate.
We bring to your attention a list of the 10 easiest ways to tie a tie: step by step photos, diagram and video.
10. Cavendish Node
- Lift the collar of your shirt and tie a tie around your neck. Seams should be directed towards you and should not be visible. Also, since Cavendish requires an extra tie length; the wide end holds much lower than the narrow end. We believe that the wide end hangs from 2/3 to 3/4 of the total length of the tie.
- As with every tie knot, lay the wide end of the tie behind the narrow end.
- Wrap the wide end around the narrow end and pull lightly.
- Now pull the wide end between the shirt collar and tie and wrap it around.
- Take the wide end and wrap it at the back and around the narrow end of the tie. Do not pull tightly, but create a loop (you must complete the knot in the next step). Then re-do the packaging you made in the previous step. This gives more dimensions and more asymmetry.
- As a last step, pull the wide end through the loop created in the previous step and tighten it.
9. The node "Pratt"
- Start with a tie inside out, with the wide end (“W”) on the right extending about 12 inches below the narrow end (“N”) on the left. Then cross the wide end under the narrow end.
- Take the wide end above and below. Pull the loop down and tighten.
- Then take the wide end to the right.
- Pull the wide end up by the loop.
- Take the wide end of the tie and pull it through the loop in front of the tie.
- Gently tighten the knot Prattsqueezing both sides (this creates a recess at the top of the knot). You did it, my friend.
8. The node "Prince Albert"
- Slip a tie around your neck so that the wide end hangs about 13 inches below the narrow end. Then cross the wide end through the narrow end.
- Then wrap the wide end once around the narrow end.
- Now create a 2nd wrap around the narrow end. Create one loop using both wrappers. Keep this loop open with two fingers.
- Now pull the wide end through the gap between the tie and collar.
- Then grab the wide end and pull it through the loop at the top of the knot. Be sure to stretch both wrappers.
- Slowly pull the wide end down, making sure that both wrappers remain in place with the other hand.
- Tie the knot firmly and slide it up so that it is in the middle between the collar. Good job, you did it! "Prince albert"Sits perfectly!
7. The node "Nikki"
- Wrap the tie around the collar with the seam facing out and the thick end to the left. This should be about two inches lower than when tied.
- Cross the thick end under the thin end, making an X-shape under the chin.
- Flip the thick end in front of the loop around the collar. Then thread it through the loop extending to the left of the thin end.
- Bring the tip of the thick end horizontally through the front of the assembly. Swipe your finger under the horizontal bar you just created through the front of the node.
- Bring the tip of the thick end up and under the loop around the collar.
- Tuck the thick end tip down through the horizontal loop you created in step 4.
- Pull the thick end through the horizontal loop and push it down.
- Adjust if necessary Nikki holding it with one hand and pulling the narrow end of the tie with the other.
6. Semi-Windsor Knot
- Wrap the tie around the collar with the wide end on the right, hanging down to the thigh, and the thin end on the left near the chest.
- Cross the wide end in front of the thin end from right to left, making an X-shape under the chin.
- Lock the wide end of the tie horizontally around and behind the thin end.
- Grab the wide end from above and through hole X and tighten.
- Hold the wide end with your right hand and wrap it in front through the thin end from right to left.
- Holding the triangle with your left hand, hold the wide end to your chest, and because of the loop, pass it through the cross.
- Using the index finger of your left hand, open the triangle that has now formed over X and extend the wide end to the end.
- To adjust the length, pull Semi-Windsor Knot up to the collar while pulling the thin end of the tie. You may need to adjust the horizontal loop so that it is flat and even.
5. Victoria
- Wrap the tie around the collar with the seam inward and the thick end on the left, about 2-3 inches below the desired end position.
- Cross the thick end of the tie horizontally in front of the narrow end, and then behind it.
- Pass the thick end through the front from left to right.
- Go through the thick end behind the knot from right to left.
- Slide the thick end through the front for the third time and slide your finger under the new horizontal strip that you just created.
- Insert the thick end through the loop around the collar coming from underneath.
- Pass the thick end down through a horizontal strip.
- Press the thick end into place. Adjust while holding the knot Victoria with one hand and gently pulling the narrow end with the other hand.
4. The knot of St. Andrew
- Wrap the tie around the collar with the seam out and the thick end to the left, two to three inches below the desired end position.
- Cross the thick end under the thin end horizontally, forming an X-shape under the chin.
- Bring the thick end horizontally through the front of the thin end.
- Continue twisting the thick end around the thin end, drawing it horizontally behind the back of the thin end from left to right.
- Flip the thick end vertically up and over the front of the assembly, and then tuck it back behind the assembly.
- Bring the thick end out and to the left.
- Feed the thick end through the front of the assembly from left to right. This will form a horizontal strip.
- Finally, place the thick end behind the knot and pull it through the horizontal loop you made in step 7.
- Pull the thick end to the end and tighten knot of St. Andrewholding it with one hand and gently pulling the thick end with the other.
3. Kelvin Node
- Wrap the tie around the collar with the seam facing out and the thick end to the left, dropping two to three inches below the desired end position.
- Cross the thick end under the thin end from left to right, creating an X-shape under the chin.
- Return the thick end through the front of the assembly from right to left. Continue to wrap it around the thin end and pass back from left to right behind the knot.
- Then move the thick end horizontally through the front of the assembly from right to left again. Put your finger under the horizontal strip that will be created.
- Thread the thick end up under the loop around the collar.
- Swipe the tip of the thick end down along the horizontal loop you created in Step 4 (but not less than the one you created in Step 3).
- Pull the thick end all the way through the horizontal loop, pressing the knot into place.
- Tighten the tie holding the knot Calvin with one hand and gently pulling the narrow end with the other.
2. Onassis node
To achieve this knot, your tie must be properly positioned. Place the wide end on the left and the small end on the right.
- Cross the wide end through the narrow end from right to left.
- Swipe the wide end under the loop around the collar and pull it down.
- Pull the wide end to the right and rotate the collar loop.
- Move the wide end to the right and move it around the front of the assembly to the left.
- Again, draw the wide end under the loop around the collar and tighten the knot “Onassis».
- Adjust the knot and straighten the wide end to smooth out any creases.
1. The node "Oriental"
- Wrap the tie around the collar so that the seam is facing inward and the thick edge on the left is two or three inches below the desired end position.
- Slide the thick end horizontally through the front of the narrow end, and then run it back horizontally behind the narrow end.
- Slide the thick end through the front of the assembly again from left to right.
- Now skip the thick end again over the knot horizontally from right to left.
- Pass the thick end AGAIN through the front of the assembly from left to right. Put your finger under this third horizontal loop.
- Bring the tip of the thick end under the loop around the collar and feed it up over the knot, down through the front of the knot and through this third horizontal loop.
- Pull the thick end through the horizontal loop and press it down.
- Adjust the tie while holding the “Oriental”In one hand and gently pulling at the narrow end of the other.
